Aamir speaks on ‘TZP’ India’s entry for Oscar

Aamir Khan's directorial debut ‘Taare Zameen Par’, a susceptible story of an eight-year-old dyslexic child, was selected as India's entry to the foreign language category for Oscars at the 81st annual Academy awards.
At a function held at Hotel Sea Princess, the actor-director expressed his happiness over his film being selected. He said that it is a film that is extremely close to his heart. It first sensitized him as a parent and as a person and then went on to have the same effect on the audiences in India and across the globe. He further added that he hopes that it has an equally strong impact on the members of the Academy as well.
This will be Aamir's second outing at the Oscars. His first home production ‘Lagaan’ reached the final nomination list of the foreign film category in 2001.
